Since we started the SOS Galgos adventure almost 20 years ago, we have saved and given a new life to more than 3.000 galgos. We developed an adoption program with the priority that they can leave behind their past life as soon as possible and start the one they deserve in the best home for them, if possible, definitive.
Before finding an adoptive family, it is usually necessary to go through a foster family, with whom they will live temporarily until their adoption. This is the gateway to their new life. There they begin to adapt to the new environment, and it is the moment in which a psychological and behavioral evaluation of the animal is carried out in order to find the most suitable adoption family for their characteristics.
SOS Galgos supervises each adoption, from the beginning to the end of the process. We carry out a previous interview to those interested in adopting and we offer advice and continuous support to the adopter during the pre-adoption period, to help in any adaptation problem that may arise.
